We'll play it safe today and just get to Blois, 65kms away. Orleans was difficult to find our way out of. Just lack of signage again
Meung-sur-Loire for the caffeine fix ( it's like changing your car to high octane fuel)
Then at Beaugency it's time to seek out a tourist office for the next map. There's 109 'departments' in France and you need to find the first tourist office after crossing the border into the next department.
We stay on the right bank all the way today
Now we DO get up close to this nuclear power station. The reactors are the smaller towers with the domed tops. The reactors super heat the steam (with water from the Loire) this drives the turbines to make the electricity, then the steam is condensed and cooled by those huge towers before returning the cool water back to the river๐ฉ๐ด
Yes ,thought you'd be interested
Now we know where the two walkers are heading. See the scallop shells on their packs. Typically pilgrims walk a section for perhaps a month then pick up where they left off next time. All with the goal of Santiago-de-compostello eventually
Blois. It's just gone 2.00 so we can be tourists for the afternoon
The 'monster house' at the chateaux. On the hour the dragons come out to roar at the children. It's a real hoot !
We followed about 20 Spanish tourists into the cathedral . It was unbelievably beautiful when they spontaneously started singing
