Up with the sparrows and on the way by 6.30, we wanted to avoid the traffic downtown
Every park bench, every doorway , every nook and cranny was littered with sleeping bods. Right through to the Seine ,and RUBBISH 😖
The ones I really felt sorry for though were the refugees. No rubbish or beer cans around them but whole families sleeping where they could. 100's of them! I've been to Paris several times and quite liked it but I don't think we'll return again
Mind you, on the brighter side, all those tons of rubbish wash into the Seine where it's easily scooped up by these giant sweeps. There were several of them working.
And they're still putting up some impressive buildings like this ferry terminal.
For those wanting advise on how to get south, follow the right bank upstream until you see the bikeroute to Alfortville. Then continue on the right bank to Villeneauve st George. You'll then have to take the D109 to Melun
But don't worry, this is as bad as the traffic gets
Melun. We feel like we're back in France again, it's very pretty. Coffee and croissants for breakfast while I post the blog
