Leaving the city was a breeze with the Camino well marked. It's like being in a marathon! There's 100s of hikers and bikers , hard to get lost
But we managed to. Lesson one, follow the road not the walkers.
It got steeper and steeper. Finally reached the summit of the first ridge
Ok, walking's not for us.
We are supposed to follow the N1110 . The old national road, superseded by a new motorway and now pretty well deserted.
Cirauqui .down hill and a rare tail wind .
We cross the ancient bridge at Puente la Reina
Estella was about to start a festival. Everyone you met was dressed in Red and white . The Mariachi band was just warming up
We've stopped the night in a hotel at Los Arcos. There's a bull race here next week hence the fences in the town square.
A bull race is where some idiot races into the arena and takes a ring off the bulls horn, then has to make it back to the fence alive.
So what do little Spanish boys play at ?
