Kirsten and Graeme from York. They deserve a mention because Graeme is RUNNING the Camino . They started in southern France and he runs at least a half marathon a day. Amazing!
It took us 2 hours to reach the summit at Cruz de Ferro
Came across this old character just after the Summit. He was dressed in a Night Templars top and was praying for everyone while wielding a big sword 😇
And then the exciting (scary ) bit. The road dropped 920 metres in 14 kms. We had pins and needles in our hands through gripping the brakes so tight
Half way down at Acebo. The coffee shops were doing a roaring trade.
And finally at the bottom, Molinaseca. The best thing about this place? We were able to buy Bacon and eggs on toast with our coffee🤗
Ponferrada. A thriving industrial city and once a stronghold of the Knights Templars. An order established for the protection of pilgrims. This is one of their many castles .
The temperatures getting up to 33 degrees so this river at Cacabelos was awfully inviting
The last few kms today was hard work. Hot and hilly . Villafranca del Bierzo was a fortified town as well but right now I'm more interested in a beer in that cafe down there
