Well, we did bike a km down the road to the station . The train goes across to Bayonne, then another smaller one heads up to St Jean pied de port.
It gave us 2 hrs to look around Bayonne, then we crammed into this little train, standing room only. I felt a bit guilty as our bikes were taking up 4 seats.
St Jean Pied de Port.
Pretty little town with a wall around it.
There's a special Pilgrims office to give out information on the Camino way. 1000's walk it each year. 465 from NZ last year I noticed.
As we walked the wall we could see our hotel ( with the dormers on the roof )
And the view from our window gave us withdrawal symptoms . Tennis courts and a rugby field 😬
