Chatillon-Coligny

We didn't wait for the hotel breakfast this morning. Opting instead for yoghurt and fruit we'd bought the night before. The old stone buildings always look their best with the early light on them.

20 plus kids fishing. I was told that there's plenty of catfish in these canals and they grow to 100 KILOS with big ugly whiskers

Cepoy. This Loing canal was built in 1720 by Philippe of Orleans to get local produce to the Paris markets. Love the wildflowers along the banks

And up around the corner we pass the Finnish girls again. They must have started REALLY early

They caught us soon after though when I was mending a puncture. ( blackberries )😡

Montargis for lunch. At this point I had planned to follow the Orleans canal but the info centre assured us it was a rough path and anyway EV3 went further south to Briare

Chatillon was a further 22 kms on so we thought we'd try for a bed there. Trouble was they were working on about 7 kms of the track so opted to go on the adjacent road. Chanced upon this 11th century theatre. (Christine chanced upon a coke she'd stashed away )

65 kms.Arrived here about three. Usual routine, bath, today's washing, watch the Tour on Tele then find a meal. That's a good time to wander around in the evening and check out the town. This one was once walled.

Home for the night
