Villadangos del Paramo

We thought it was nice that our hotel room opened on to a nice park. BIG mistake ! In Spain, those parks are where everyone comes to in the evening after dinner. Kids screaming, soccer games, someone on a drum..... At 11pm they'd mostly gone home thankfully.😅
Anyway we'd only planned to go 20kms into Leon so we slept in.

The market was setting up so I bought a bag of fruit for 1€. ( they don't give you much for breakfast)

Leon. The plan was to use the day to find a dentist as I'm having a bit of toothache.
What I hadn't realised was it's a public holiday. Oh well, take another panadol

This young Aussie couple baby sat our bikes while we both looked through the cathedral .

There's a nice bit of modern architecture to balance the historical in Leon.
This is San Marco Abby.

A church service was taking place and the old cloisters were now a museum ,very peaceful, but in 1936-1940 it was used as a concentration camp/ torture chamber during the Spanish civil war. 7000 poor sods were kept here !

Around most villages through here there's signs of the old troglodyte dwellings. They're nice and cool inside!

The trouble with leaving late is it gets much hotter after lunch. 33 degrees today. Lunch was 2 big beers ,roast potatoes and a nice but very chewy meat . ( turned out to be pigs ear )😲
We pressed on after sightseeing for another 20kms to clear the city .

Villadangos del Paramo. Home for tonight. It's very nice inside and the veranda is great for relaxing with a beer
